Comparison

An eSSL Cloud alternative for the machines you already own

If you own eSSL terminals and want out of the desktop era, there are two hosted paths: eSSL Cloud — the hosted edition of eTimeTrackLite — or a vendor-neutral cloud like AionHRMS speaking the same iClock/ADMS protocol. The machines work with both. This page compares the two using only what each vendor publishes, quoted and dated, so you can check every line.

eSSL Cloud is the hosted eTimeTrackLite: familiar software, priced per user count and device count — its published tiers (August 2026) run from ₹2,000 per month for 50 users and 2 devices up to ₹1,20,000 per month for 15,000 users and 200 devices. AionHRMS runs on the same eSSL hardware over the same push protocol, but differs in the four places that decide year two: pricing is a flat annual subscription by headcount band with unlimited terminals and sites, invoiced only after go-live; ZKTeco and Realtime machines join the same register; attendance carries through to shift-wise salary with late rules, paid leave and advances; and the security posture is published — data on infrastructure in India, from an ISO 9001:2015-certified company with SOC 2 Type II, GDPR and HIPAA readiness. eSSL Cloud's site (August 2026) publishes no certifications or data-residency statement, and its own terms state that guaranteeing data protection is not possible and that data-loss liability rests with the customer.

What eSSL Cloud is, fairly

eSSL Cloud (esslcloud.com, operated by enterprise Software Solutions Lab, Bangalore) hosts the eTimeTrackLite software so you no longer maintain the attendance PC — a genuine step up from the desktop edition, in an interface thousands of Indian admins already know.

Hosted eTimeTrackLite: the familiar tool, without the office PC dependency
Published, transparent pricing tiers — rare in this market and worth crediting
The natural continuity choice if your team knows eTimeTrackLite and your estate is eSSL-only
If that describes you and attendance reports are all you need, it is a reasonable product — this page exists for everyone who needs more

Pricing: per-user monthly tiers versus a flat annual band

eSSL Cloud's published tiers (August 2026) scale by user count and device count: ₹2,000/month covers 50 users and 2 devices, rising to ₹1,20,000/month for 15,000 users and 200 devices. The model is clear — and it means hiring, seasonal labour and every additional terminal move your bill.

AionHRMS is a flat annual subscription by headcount band: unlimited terminals and unlimited sites in the account, invoiced only after the devices are live
A second door, a third site, a replacement terminal — none of it changes the bill; only crossing a headcount band does
Factories, schools and warehouses — large, changing headcounts — are exactly who per-user pricing penalises
For a stable 20-person office, per-user maths can genuinely be cheaper; we say so rather than hide it

Security: what each side publishes

Compare postures, not adjectives. Ours: attendance and enrolment data on infrastructure in India; model-specific disclosure of templates and face-photo workflows; raw enrolment payloads excluded from ordinary exports and the partner API; role-scoped access; API keys hashed and logged; built by AIONDATA — ISO 9001:2015 certified, CMMI Level 3 appraised, SOC 2 Type II, GDPR and HIPAA ready (readiness, stated precisely). Theirs, from esslcloud.com as of August 2026:

No security certifications are published on the eSSL Cloud site
No data-residency statement — where your attendance data lives is not stated
Its terms state: "It is therefore not possible to guarantee water-tight protection for data from access by third parties."
Its terms also state it is "not liable for any loss of data if you fail to maintain your own copy"
As of August 2026 the esslcloud.com login page is served over plain HTTP, not HTTPS
Every quote above is from their own published site — check them before you decide, and hold us to the same standard

The single-brand ceiling

eSSL Cloud serves eSSL's ecosystem. That is not a criticism — it is the business model of every manufacturer cloud — but it becomes your constraint the day a second brand arrives, and in a market where dealers stock whatever is competitive that week, it arrives.

AionHRMS runs eSSL, ZKTeco and Realtime terminals in one account, one register
Your next machine goes to whichever dealer quotes best, with zero software consequences
Compatible iClock templates may be re-pushed only to format-compatible iClock terminals; other replacements can require biometric enrolment
An acquired office with Realtime machines joins the same register instead of keeping a second system

After attendance: the payroll difference

eTimeTrackLite's lineage is time-and-attendance: shifts, leaves and reports. AionHRMS treats the report as the halfway point — the same punches compute the salary.

Per-employee duty times, single or double shift, each shift with its own salary
Late marks against your grace period, penalties only above your threshold
Paid leave capped at the month's working days; advances recorded and settled
A monthly payroll report across the workforce — reviewed, not rebuilt in Excel
Not included, stated plainly: statutory filing (PF, ESI, TDS returns)

Switching: what it actually involves

Because both systems speak to the same terminals over the same push protocol, migration is a repoint, not a rip-out.

Repoint each terminal at our server from its own Comm/ADMS menu — enrolled fingerprints on the device survive
Import the employee list and push supported profile fields; confirm the biometric-enrolment workflow for each model
Historical data inside eSSL Cloud: export what its plans allow before you switch, and keep your own copy — their terms make that your responsibility anyway
Agree a written cutover plan after a model check and test punch; timing depends on device access, data quality and site count

eSSL Cloud versus AionHRMS, line by line

Competitor rows are from esslcloud.com as published in August 2026. Verify them yourself — the point of this table is that you can.

Frequently asked questions

Is there a better alternative to eSSL Cloud for eSSL machines?

Define better for your case. If you want the familiar eTimeTrackLite interface, an eSSL-only estate and published tier pricing, eSSL Cloud is the continuity choice. If you need mixed device brands in one register, unlimited terminals and sites within an organisation-wide headcount band, salary computed from punches, or a published security posture with India data residency, that combination is AionHRMS — on the same machines, over the same protocol.

What does eSSL Cloud cost versus AionHRMS?

eSSL Cloud publishes user/device tiers (August 2026): from ₹2,000 per month for 50 users and 2 devices to ₹1,20,000 per month for 15,000 users and 200 devices. AionHRMS is a flat annual subscription by headcount band with unlimited terminals and sites, invoiced only after go-live; the bands are on our pricing page. Which is cheaper depends on your headcount and device count — per-user-per-device favours a very small single-terminal team; a flat band favours anyone with more than one door.

Will our eSSL machines and enrolled fingerprints work after switching?

Yes. The terminals repoint to our server from their own settings menu, and repointing does not erase templates already enrolled on the device. Once connected, templates are also stored centrally, so future device swaps stop being re-enrolment events.

Is our attendance data safer with AionHRMS?

Compare what each side publishes and decide. We state data residency, the enrolment formats different devices can use, export/API boundaries, archive and deletion behavior, role-scoped access and hashed API keys. AIONDATA states ISO 9001:2015 certification with SOC 2 Type II/GDPR/HIPAA readiness. Check the cited eSSL Cloud terms and ask both vendors to contractually confirm the controls that matter to you.

Can we keep eTimeTrackLite's historical attendance?

Export it before you switch and keep your own copy — under eSSL Cloud's own terms, maintaining a copy of your data is your responsibility regardless. Bring us the export and we will tell you honestly what can be imported into AionHRMS for continuity and what is better archived.

Same eSSL machines. Different ceiling.

Send us a model and serial, and we will confirm the repoint before you change anything.
