Layer one: capture that cannot be gamed

The register is only as honest as the punch. Manual registers and card-only systems fail the same way — someone else can sign, someone else can swipe. Biometric capture ties the punch to the person, which is the entire point.

  • Fingerprint, face, RFID card and PIN, mixed freely across gates and sites

A punch at 09:34 means nothing by itself. Whether it is late, which shift it belongs to, and what it does to the month's salary are decisions — and they should be made by configured rules applied identically everywhere, not by whoever maintains the spreadsheet.

If any layer is missing, people fill the gap with spreadsheets — which is the system silently failing.
What is the difference between an attendance management system and attendance software?
The software is one layer; the system is all three. Plenty of attendance software only reads punches from one brand of machine and stops at a report — you still need the machine, the rules and the payroll from somewhere. When we say system, we mean the machine (through authorised dealers), the cloud software, the rule engine and the payroll are one purchase.

Judge any candidate on four things: multi-brand device support, central template storage, one register across branches, and whether attendance produces a salary figure or an export.
