Biometric attendance system for hotels and hospitality

A hotel never closes, so its attendance never simplifies. Front office works rotating shifts, housekeeping peaks at checkout, the kitchen runs split shifts around two meal services, and a banquet night doubles the headcount with contract staff who must be gone from the system by morning.

Hotel attendance has three hard parts: round-the-clock shifts that cross midnight, split duties like a kitchen's 7–11 and 5–11, and a workforce that swells with contract staff for events. AionHRMS handles all three on the terminal at the staff entrance: each employee carries their own duty times with single or double shifts, night punches land on the right duty date, contract staff are enrolled and revoked from a browser in minutes, and the same punches compute shift-wise salary — including a separate salary per shift for split-duty staff.

24×7 operations, split shifts, borrowed staff

Hospitality attendance fails at the edges: the steward whose shift ends at 1 a.m., the housekeeping attendant covering a colleague's floor, the banquet waiter hired for one night. Software built for offices books all three wrongly — or not at all.

  • Night duties that end after midnight must land on the duty date, not the calendar date
  • Split shifts — two duty periods a day — are normal for kitchens and service staff
  • Banquet and event nights bring contract staff who need same-day enrolment and same-week revocation
  • Kitchen and housekeeping fingerprints wear — face terminals or RFID keep those staff in the register

From the staff gate to the wage sheet, every shift priced

The shift is the unit throughout, which is what makes hotel mathematics come out right — a split-duty cook is not doing one long day, and the system knows it.

  • One or two shifts per employee, each with its own timings and its own salary
  • Punches assigned to the correct shift automatically, including across midnight
  • Contract staff enrolled from the browser and revoked when the event ends — access, not paperwork
  • Face or RFID for kitchen and housekeeping staff whose fingerprints will not read
  • Multi-property groups see every hotel in one register, with per-property administrators

Frequently asked questions

Can it handle staff whose shift ends after midnight?
Yes. Punches are bucketed to the employee's duty times, so a shift that starts at 10 p.m. and ends at 6 a.m. belongs to the duty date it started on — the register and the salary both treat it as one shift, not two half-days.
How do we handle banquet-night contract staff?
Enrol them from the browser and push them to the staff-entrance terminal the same day; revoke access when the engagement ends. Their punches are recorded like anyone else's, so the contractor's invoice is settled against data.
Our kitchen staff's fingerprints often fail to scan. What then?
That is normal in kitchens — heat, water and knives are hard on fingerprints. Use a face terminal at the staff entrance or issue RFID cards; both record the verification method per punch, so the register stays complete.
We run three properties under one group. One system?
One account, three properties, each with its own terminals and local administrators — and the group office sees all of them live. Staff moved between properties are enrolled once.
