What is the price of a biometric attendance machine in India?
Entry fingerprint terminals typically sell for around ₹3,000–5,500 in the Indian market, sturdier and higher-capacity fingerprint units for ₹6,500–12,000, and face-recognition terminals for ₹8,000–25,000 depending on build and traffic rating. Installation and cabling add a small one-time cost. Which biometric machine is best for an office?
For most offices under about fifty staff per entrance, a current fingerprint terminal from eSSL, ZKTeco or Realtime is the sensible buy — cheapest, reliable, serviced everywhere. Busy entrances and hygiene-sensitive workplaces justify a face terminal. The bigger lever is the software: it decides whether your second branch joins the same register or starts a second system.
Is an attendance punching machine the same as a biometric machine?
Yes — "attendance punching machine" is the common Indian term for the same device. If it verifies a fingerprint or face it is a biometric terminal; if it reads a card it is an RFID terminal. Both push their punches into the same AionHRMS register, with the verification method recorded on every punch.
Does a biometric machine need a computer or internet to work?
It needs neither to verify people. Matching happens on the device itself, and punches are stored in its own memory. A network connection is only needed to push punches to the cloud — and with AionHRMS there is no dedicated PC at all: the terminal talks to our server directly and you read attendance in a browser.
Can I buy just the machine from you, without software?
AionHRMS does not sell standalone hardware. Independent dealers supply and install terminals; our scope is compatibility confirmation, the cloud employee and attendance register, model-specific enrolment workflows, multi-branch rules and shift-wise payroll.
What happens if our fingerprint machine is replaced?
Register the replacement and push the employee list. If both devices use a compatible iClock template format, stored templates may be re-pushed; otherwise staff must enrol biometrics on the replacement. Realtime biometric enrolment is device-side. We confirm the source/replacement pair before procurement.
Some of our workers' fingerprints do not read. What do we do?
Issue RFID cards or enrol them on face where the terminal supports it. Both are recorded as verifications like any other punch, so those workers stay in the register rather than being handled on paper.
Is a fingerprint image stored anywhere?
Supported fingerprint terminals normally provide a vendor-specific mathematical template rather than a photograph of the finger. AionHRMS stores that template for compatible device synchronisation; it is not shown in the interface, ordinary attendance exports or the partner API. Face devices can follow a different workflow and may use a face or profile photo, as our privacy page explains.
Is a photograph of my employees stored by a face terminal?
No. The terminal computes and stores a mathematical template. AionHRMS stores that template centrally so it can be pushed to your other format-compatible terminals, and it is never displayed in the interface or included in an ordinary attendance export.
Does face recognition work with masks or in low light?
That depends on the terminal, not on the software; capability varies by model and generation. Tell us the model you are considering and we will say what it handles, or test it at the real entrance before you buy.
